얼마 전 마지막 음반이 나와 표지를 추가해서 다시 올립니다.

위 이미지들은 Ronald Brautigam이 BIS에서 진행 중인
모차르트 피아노 협주곡 시리즈 표지들입니다.

최근 협주곡 5번과 6번을 담은 마지막 음반이 발매되었습니다.

시리즈 중에서 가장 먼저 둘째 음반의 표지를 보고
도끼로 나무를 다듬고 있는 장면이 모차르트 협주곡 음반과 어떤 관련이 있나 궁금했습니다.

음반 소책자 뒤의 표지 사진에 대한 설명을 보니
포르테피아노가 만들어지는 과정을 주제로 찍은 사진들을 표지로 만든 것이었습니다.

소책자에 적혀있는 표지에 대한 설명은 다음과 같습니다.

Step 1: Visit a forest and select a sutable spruce tree for the soundboard.

Step 2: Split a linden tree log, the raw material for the heads of the hammers.

Step 3: Find an original instrument - by a master-builder - and measure it in detail.

Step 4: Using go-bas, glue the bridge to the soundboard.

Step 5: String the piano.

Step 6: Crave your hammer heads to match the weight of those used by Anton Walter.

Step 7: Keyboard regulation - adjust the hammer mechanism.

Step 8: Polish the instrument with shellac.

Step 9: Attach the legs.

Step 10: Tune the instrument.
